ENGAGE FOR AFRICA HQ Coaching is Merseyside's leading school sports coaching organisation and was started by Matthew Houghton. He employs a team of specialist coaches who bring their skills in Football, Dancing, Basketball, Cricket, Hockey and a wide range of other sports to local schools. Their contracts are growing in the North West of England. When Matt collect nearly 800 sets of football shirts from the children he was coaching he brought them all to Uganda in February 2009 and made a lot of would be Steve Gerrarrd's and Ryan Gigg's very happy. And when he returned home he started "Engage for Africa" and has committed to raise about £2000 per year to provide sports resources at Good Shepherd and at St Zoe's schools.

GOOD SHEPHERD OUTREACH PROJECT One of our supporters , Dr. Patricia Scampion who is a Paediatrician has spent a lot of her time in Fort Portal and her work in reviewing over 400 children has given us a real feel of what the local needs are and how best to help solve them. Good Shepherd School with 72 children can make a big difference in the areas close to the school but it cannot really do much for the many hundred children with disabilities who live further away in the region. Dr Scampion is fundraising to provide a vehicle which will help us to develop an outreach service and is developing a plan to see if we can set up outreach services for children in the wider region |

UK SCHOOLS MOSQUITO NET PROECT Several schools and individuals have been fundraising to provide money to make sure that all pur children can have a mosquito net and reduce the risk of mosquito bites which can lead to malaria. Every year we lose children through this awful disease. Mosquito nets can cost about £4 each when bought in quantity and we have been able to provide over 300 this year already. |
